How long has it been?
A few days, months, may be years.
Your smile I have not seen,
Nor have heard your gleeful cheers.

I know, you will not agree
Not care what I have to say
Perhaps deny vehemently
But still, you look changed today
Not the person whom I had known
Who stood out amidst all others
Who had dreams and wishes of his own
And who still knew how to be together

You will say, "It has been time
We have taken different ways
You have taken yours and I mine
These are no more the same days"

May be you are right
We really have walked away
But perhaps it is not time
It is us who have moved this way.

You forget this with ease today.
That we always were different.
Even then, we walked our own way.
But we were not so much distant.

When was it last I wonder now
When I had told you my tale
When was it when you had wanted to know
Or I had really cared to tell

I remember the nights
When we counted the stars,
For each star, we had something to say
Those nights today, look so much far.

And I look back to that day
